Technique

The use of modern instruments, such as the video equipment of the courts allows a precise analysis of movements. These instruments are key tools for the progression of athletes.

RICCARDO PIATTI

Born in Como in 1958, he became a coach in 1982, after attending the National School of Tennis Masters (Scuola Nazionale Maestri Tennis).

Between 1984 and 1988, he was in charge and captain of the U16 team of the Italian Tennis Federation.

In 1988, he decided to start his own business and follow some of the most promising players such as Renzo Furlan (best ranking  No. 19 in the world in 1996, Cristiano Caratti, No. 26 ATP in 1991, Omar Camporese No. 25 ATP and Cristian Brandi No. 50 in doubles in 2000.)

Riccardo Piatti then coached Ivan Ljubicic, who led him to his best ranking, 3rd in the world.

During this collaboration, Ivan Ljubicic won 10 ATP tournaments (including the Indian Wells Master 1000, USA), won the bronze medal at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, with Mario Ancic as well as the Davis Cup with Croatia in 2006.

The Italian coach also worked with national players such as Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini

For a year, he worked with former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic

In 2013, he coached the Frenchman Richard Gasquet who reached his best ranking that year: 9th in the ATP ranking allowing him to access the Masters Final in London.

From 2013 to 2017, Riccardo Piatti coached Canadian player Milos Raonic, who played in a Wimbledon final. 

Raonic then reached his best ATP ranking n.3 and took part in the London Masters.

He then coached Croatian player Borna Coric and Maria Sharapova.

Since 2008, coach Piatti has decided to put his vast experience at the service of young talents and their coaches, organizing workshops in Italy and Europe and working as a consultant at numerous Tennis Clubs.

He founded the Piatti Tennis Center in 2018.

Riccardo Piatti coached the Italian Jannik Sinner from 13 to 20 years old. During this period, Sinner won 5 ATP titles and reached two Grand Slam’s quarter finals. In 2020, Sinner became the youngest ATP 500 champion ever by winning in Washington. He ended the year ranked top 10 in the world.

The partnership between Piatti and Sinner ended in February 2022.

The Piatti Tennis Center team is made up of internationally renowned coaches, physical and mental trainers.
